A caravan or motor-home is a marvellous way to see the world whilst till enjoying all the comforts of home. A hotel room is great but it lacks that personal touch and it certainly can’t come with you wherever decide to go. The only problem with caravans and motor-homes is image most of us have of wall to wall kitsch 1970’s décor, luckily though that is not something that cannot be remedied.

Decorating a caravan couldn’t be simpler. The small amount of space means less is definitely more so a minimal, clutter free style is definitely the way to go. A simple dark yet stylishly coloured carpet will definitely add some durable comfort. Go for a rich plum or aubergine for a contemporary look that won’t need constant cleaning. If your caravan is going to be touring the festivals then it is best to stick to a vinyl floor covering which can be wiped clean in seconds.

Walls should be kept pattern free and light in shade. White may be a little too unforgiving so soften the look by opting for off white or for some neutral but warm tones such as cream or butterscotch. To increase the feeling of space add some mirrors to walls and doors and steal space from the outside by keeping your windows clutter free. A cheap roller-blind would be best suited here due to its simple design and easy maintenance. Choosing a blind that offers total blackout is also sensible if you want a restful sleep.

Add touches of home and areas of colour in the form of accessories like clocks, cutlery and picture frames, or soft furnishings like cushions, colourful bedspreads or throws. It is probably best to choose one bright colour as your accent colour then stick to it when it comes to such items. This will create a unified theme and therefore increase the feeling of space. Too many colours will make for a cluttered finish. You can spread the colour to the bathroom by including towels and bathmats in the same shade. In the summer go for a zesty lemon or lime and in the winter add warmth with chocolate or crimson accents.

In terms of furniture, it is best to spend a little more on things that have multi uses, not only will this save money in the long run but it will give you more room to manoeuvre. You could for example, include a couch-bed that also has storage in the body so you can hide your bedding and duvet during the daytime. Instead of a cooker, oven and toaster, why not purchase a microwave that can also act as a grill and defroster? This is save plenty of room and cut down on the number of hazards onboard. A folding table and chair set is also preferable to a fixed one as it gives you the option of eating outside if the weather is particularly nice and also means you can make some space for an inflatable mattress should you be travelling in a large party.

I can never find a way to beat my friends even when i buy cards that i think will work with my deck they never do. Right now i’ve got a black green blue and white artifact deck. I would like to keep my cards at a 75 limit. I’m also trying not to spend alot on new cards because i just spent alot on cards that don’t really work well. My main 3 opponent decks are a sliver deck, a mono black rat zergling deck, and a really good goblin burn deck. My most common problem is that i cant finish off an oppenent. Early on in the game i am easily outnumbering his creatures and usually have plenty of mana to play spells. I just need a surefire way to win like with combos. These are the current cards in my deck…

(Artifact) Creatures:
2 leaden myr
2 gold myr
2 copper myr
2 silver myr
2 iron myr
2 myr retriever
1 clockwork dragon
1 leonin abunas
1 bosh iron golem
1 qumulox
1 platinum angel
1 stuffy doll
1 myr enforcer
1 memnarch
1 yomiji who bars the way
1 ornithopter
1 vedalken engineer
1 synod centurion
1 arcbound overseer
1 mycosynth golem
1 leonin elder
1 shapesharer

Artifacts:
1 door to nothingness
1 phyrexian lens
1 voodoo doll
1 time bomb
1 ur-golem’s eye
1 chromatic sphere
1 glasses of urza
1 mycosynth lattice
1 myr matrix
1 skeleton shard
1 armageddon clock
1 legacy weapon
1 chimeric staff
1 altar of shadows
1 barls cage
1 aladdin’s ring
1 jester’s mask
1 tower of eons
2 clearwater goblets
1 grinning totem
1 energy chamber
1 cranial plating
1 empyrial plate
3 gilded lotus

Lands:
3 terefi’s isle
3 yavimaya hollow
3 shizo, death’s storehouse
1 seat of synod
1 ancient den
1 darksteel citadel

Sorcery:
1 tinker
1 ritual of restoration
1 mine excavation

Instant:
1 counterspell

Enchantment:
1 prison term

Thank you very much for all your help

First off, you have way too many 1 ofs. You need to find the best cards that will work for you and get 4 of them. That way, you are more likely to pull them when you need to. Secondly, I would seriously look at making it at most 3 colors. Even with an artifact deck, you never know when you will need the extra slots for something else. I would suggest using white, blue, and black. That, plus you only have 12 lands. You are never going to get anywhere with 12 lands. You need at least 18. Since you are going with artifacts, I would say run 4 copies of each of the artifact lands (unless you are playing by banned/restricted rules).

I would run 4 stuffy dolls and either pariah (or pariah’s shield) or Guilty Conscience (instant win).

Some other artifact combos would be 2 Myr Retriever, Krark-Clan Ironworks (or Ashnod’s Altar), Disciple of the Vault. This is an instant win. With the Ironworks in play and a Retriever in the graveyard, sacrifice the retriever in play to the Ironworks (get 2 mana, deal one damage thanks to the Disciple), when the retriever goes into the graveyard, return the other retriever and then use the 2 mana from the ironworks to play it again, sacrifice that one and repeat the process until everyone is dead.

As far as playing against the other decks, I would run 4 Ensnaring Bridge and try to get rid of your hand. This will prevent any creatures from attacking. Also, throw in a Plague Sliver into your deck. That will teach that pesky sliver player to play with slivers. The burn deck, use Ivory Mask. You have shroud and therefore can’t be burned. And then throw in Light of Day for the rat player. Light of Day stops all black creatures from attacking or blocking.

Here’s what I would suggest:

Creatures (18)
4* Disciple of the Vault
4* Myr Retriever
4* Stuffy Doll
2* Myr Enforcer
2* Leonin Elder
1* Plague Sliver (can be removed if you are not playing against the sliver guy)
1* Leonin Abunas (add 1 more if you are not using the sliver)

Enchantments (12)
3* Light of Day
3* Darkest Hour
2* Guilty Conscience
2* Pariah
2* Ivory Mask

Artifacts (8)
4* Cranial Plating
2* Aether Spellbomb
2* Krark-Clan Ironworks

Spells (4)
4* Fabricate

Lands (18)
4* Ancient Den
4* Vault of Whispers
4* Seat of the Synod
4* Arcane Sanctum
2* Dromar’s Cavern

Just quickly put together.

The guy who fixes watches said this was because I use energizer batteries which has too much power for the motor. He suggested that using an ordinary alkaline battery would prolong the motor life, is this true? If so why?

too much power? he needs to try to explain that one.

a circuit will only draw the current required to make it work.

A clock does not draw much current at all, a standard alkaline battery will last at least a year, if it does not, then you need a bigger battery with more capacity, AA to C or D.

Very carefully!

No to be serious, if you are not sure, do not clean them beyond a little dusting.
If they are antiques they are likely to be worth more in their present condition than cleaned wrong.
Success.

This is a video of a grandfather clock we recently repaired in Great Neck, Long Island, New York.

During the repair process this video was taken from the side of the clock looking in at the internal movement.

You can hear it chime clearly, this is after the sound had been properly adjusted.

This is a westminster chime, it also has a St. Michaels chime.
