how to remove old clear finish on brass?

need to remove clear finish on an antique brass naval clock.Is there any solvents that will do it?

Finish remover/stripper from Home Depot works great but be sure to do it in the open using rubber gloves. Please be aware that stripping the original finish may lower the value of the clock.

    Try using isopropyl alcohol.its harmless
