It was working fine but now will only tick for a few seconds at a time. What to do?
look on the internet for either local antique shops, or clock shops, or clock repair. You will probably have to take it in to one of these places. If it is real old it might be dirty inside and needs cleaning to make it work smoothly.
I have a grandfather clock that is 122 years old. In the past it needed a clock repair person at least 4 times that I know of.
Good luck. Oh, and don’t fool around with it yourself, you might do more harm than good.

It is a medium colored wood with a yellow face with green numbers. I have looked online but can’t seem to find this particular model. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated as I would like to find out when it was made, possible production numbers, etc.
The clock was made in Schwinnegen, Germany, which was the "clock capital" until Japan geared up clock production. Schwinnegen has a clock museum. I could ask my friends for the address to this rather small museum.

It has two holes on the front for winding
Turn the minute hand clockwise until the clock is set. If it has chimes, you may have to loosen the nut that holds the hands in place and reposition them so the time agrees with the chimes. When you switch to daylight savings time, if the clock cannot be stopped, move it ahead 11 hours. Don’t try turning the hands backward as it usually messes the chime and time settings.
