Video posts are my favorite because we can all take a look at people disecting or constructing clockworks or simply looking at awesome antiques. Clocks are my favorite type of art and you’ll find lots of styles reviewed here.

Here is my list of favorites from over the past couple of years.

mantle clocks

The Hermle Queensway mantel clock is a modern classic. It is a reproduction of an antique and you won’t find a clock case like it anywhere else.

The Loricron 1159-K mantle clock looks sorta like a birdhouse or a church. It’s unique design has always been my favorite. Plus I love pendulum clocks.

carriage clocks

My absolute favorite is the David Peterson DP/BFC mechanical carriage clock because of it’s smooth elegance. When you think of Carriage Clocks you think of 24K gold plated brass, glass bezel and pure elegance and the David Peterson Company does that superbly.

anniversary clocks

Lots of companies make anniversary clocks but the top dog for me is the Loricron 9539-W. I like Westminster chime clocks and this not only has that buy has gold plated detail work and simple design that stands out to me personally.

grandfather clocks

When you talk about longcase grandfather clocks most people think of companies other than Hermle but I think their innovative design seperates them from the pack. The Jamestown by Hermle is a perfect example and it can come in their patented auto wind feature which is awesome.

skeleton clocks

I love seeing clock movements in action. My favorite skeleton clocks are by Hermle, particularly the Bridgewater model beause of it’s Greek like columns. Very unique and showcases the clock movement beautifully.
