Video posts are my favorite because we can all take a look at people disecting or constructing clockworks or simply looking at awesome antiques. Clocks are my favorite type of art and you’ll find lots of styles reviewed here.

Here is my list of favorites from over the past couple of years.

mantle clocks

The Hermle Queensway mantel clock is a modern classic. It is a reproduction of an antique and you won’t find a clock case like it anywhere else.

The Loricron 1159-K mantle clock looks sorta like a birdhouse or a church. It’s unique design has always been my favorite. Plus I love pendulum clocks.

carriage clocks

My absolute favorite is the David Peterson DP/BFC mechanical carriage clock because of it’s smooth elegance. When you think of Carriage Clocks you think of 24K gold plated brass, glass bezel and pure elegance and the David Peterson Company does that superbly.

anniversary clocks

Lots of companies make anniversary clocks but the top dog for me is the Loricron 9539-W. I like Westminster chime clocks and this not only has that buy has gold plated detail work and simple design that stands out to me personally.

grandfather clocks

When you talk about longcase grandfather clocks most people think of companies other than Hermle but I think their innovative design seperates them from the pack. The Jamestown by Hermle is a perfect example and it can come in their patented auto wind feature which is awesome.

skeleton clocks

I love seeing clock movements in action. My favorite skeleton clocks are by Hermle, particularly the Bridgewater model beause of it’s Greek like columns. Very unique and showcases the clock movement beautifully.

Most of the people who play golf are business executives. That is why it is important that promotional golf items have a sophisticated and elegant look. One of the major concerns in making a promotional item is the item itself. You have to define the purpose of the gift you are giving. Is it going to be for decoration? Are you giving away something that the golfer will use whilst playing? Or is it going to be something that you want him to use either at home or in the office?

If you have defined the purpose that the gift will serve, it will be easier to pick a design. For decorative promotional products, you can choose something that is easy to display. Not too small to be overlooked but not too big either to be overpowering. Pick a design that is simple yet eye-catching. You can probably use a golf ball as an inspiration. You can create a bigger size golf ball with your logo on it and use a golf club designed stand. It will definitely remind your client of golf and since you have your logo on it, he will remember you as well.

If the item that you intend to give is something that the golfer will use while he is playing, then you can pick something visible. You can either use hats, sun visors and even golf towels. You are not only giving away an item this way but you are also advertising your name that is why it is important that you use high quality materials. Pick designs that are simple and elegant. Keep in mind that most of your recipients hold senior positions and they can gauge sophistication by the item’s design. So if you don’t want your items to go to waste, keep quality and design in mind.

If it is something that you want the golfer to use in the office or at home, then you can give away simple yet very useful products. For office purposes, you can give away a golf ball designed paper weight. You can also give away planners with your logo, elegant pens with your name printed on it or briefcases with your name embossed on one of its corners. If it is something that you want for home use, you can use give-away coffee mugs, wall clocks, umbrellas or other items that might be useful. Just remember to keep your designs elegant.

I’ve never heard that any Metamecs have become "collectible" so can’t see yours making a lot of money, – sorry.( But I could be wrong..)

My instinct would be to put a reserve of about £3…

Kokiri – Fairy Children of Kokiri Woods.
Sheikah – Shadow people sworn to protect the Hylian Royal Family.
Gorons – Mountain folk of Death Mountain.
Fairies – Friendly magical creatures who have healing powers.
Gerudo – Desert dwellers. Most are female.
Zoras – Fish people of Lake Hylia and Zora’s Domain.
Hylians – Humans of Hyrule.
Deku Scrubs – Wooden creatures who are both enemies and salesmen.
Oocca – Bird Creatures of The City in the Sky.
Ikana – Skeletons of Ikana Castle.
Clock Town Villagers – The interesting townsfolk of Clock Town.

Ok, Not sure if I missed any, but if I did you can write those as your favorite.

My favorite are the Sheikah. Zoras come in at a close second though.

And I do realize that some are from Termina and some are from Twilight princess.

Crap, how could I forget those? They definitely come in second behind the Sjeikas.

But if I had to choose out of the ones above, I would chose Zoras, Hylians and Kokiris.

I choose Zoras because they are just cool creatures, and so beautiful.
I choose Hylians because Link is a hylian, and who doesnt like Link?
I choose Kokiris because Link originally thought he was a Kokiri, plus, I love Saria, and she was a Kokiri

I want to create my own clock face for it in Photoshop and get it printed at a professional printer. I’ll spray paint the frame silver. It will have a stylized photo of us in the background (faded), roman numerals for time, and the following quote at the bottom in a fancy script:

I’ll wrap it in a nice box with silver paper and blue (his favorite color) ribbon, and pack it with blue tulle. I also plan on including a letter, but that will be separate.

What do you think? Is this a good idea or is it too cheesy? Any additional ideas or suggestions?
I should add, the clock still tells time because the numbers are reversed. So it’s not useless or anything.
Hopefully he’ll like it. When he graduated Marine Corps Officer Candidate School I got him something that he didn’t "get".

We had gone out to eat at a chinese place with his grandparents right before he left and all of our fortunes were about courage (fitting since he was leaving for OCS in two days). I saved the fortunes and had them framed with the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor in the background. He was like, "It’s cool, but why’d you type it on those tiny pieces of paper?"

His mom liked it, though.

I think this is really original and not something a lot of people would think of. I think he’ll love it. Kudos on being super creative. If he doesn’t appreciate it, then he’s an idiot.
